Safe and Affordable Treatments at Our Vein Clinic

vein clinic

If you would like to eliminate unwanted veins that are showing through your skin, you should look at the safe and affordable treatments that are available at our state-of-the-art Chicago area vein clinic. Problem veins typically come in one of two forms: varicose and spider veins. The two conditions can be similar in cause, but the differences can be significant as well. Spider veins develop in the smaller vessels that branch out from larger ones. They often form on the face, but they are common on the legs and chest as well.

Varicose veins develop in larger vessels and are typically found in the legs. One of the most common causes for their development is a failure of the valves that are inside the veins. These valves are there to act as one-way “check valves” that keep the blood flowing in the correct direction: upwards, towards the heart. If they were not there, forces like the pull of gravity could cause the blood to flow in a downward direction away from the heart. If the valves in the veins fail to function properly, the blood in the vessels can back up and start to pool. This creates added pressure inside the veins. As a result, they may enlarge and become varicose.

Varicose veins can have profound effects on patients: aesthetic as well as symptom-related. Many people seek treatment at our vein clinic simply for the sake of appearance. However, varicose veins can produce uncomfortable symptoms such as chronic heaviness, ache, cramping, swelling, itching and restless legs. These symptoms are often worse at the end of the day. They are especially noted in patients whose jobs require them to stand all day: teachers, cashiers, hair stylists, factory workers, etc. They may also increase the risks of other health problems as well, such as bleeding episodes and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Spider veins typically impact the appearance only. This, however, is often enough to impact a patient’s self-esteem and may keep people from doing things they enjoy and wearing the clothes they love.

At Rosen Vein Care, we offer a number of treatment options that are non-surgical and effective. Procedures include Endovenous Laser Ablation, Clarivein® and Sclerotherapy. Dr Rosen will be able to find the ones that work best to help solve your issues and work to improve your quality of life. Make an appointment at Rosen Vein Care to get started.
