Many patients wonder “What makes Rosen Vein Care different than other vein clinics in the Chicagoland area?”
The answer is compassionate, personalized, state-of-the-art care.
When envisioning my practice, the starting point was the determination to create a patient experience that I would want for my family and for myself. Nowadays, patients have unfortunately become accustomed to spending little time with their doctors. Whatever time spent is often hurried, leaving many issues unaddressed and many questions unanswered.
At Rosen Vein Care, every appointment slot with every patient is designed to allow for a pleasant, unrushed experience.
The consultation appointment is 1 hour long. This allows us to obtain a thorough medical history because you are more than just your leg veins: many factors can lead to legs that are uncomfortable and have varicose and spider veins.
In addition, having ample time allows me the ability to do something else I love: teach! I feel strongly that ultimately the patient has to make the decision regarding whether it makes sense to undergo treatment. You are the “President” of your body; doctors should be advisors, not dictators. As your advisor, it’s my responsibility (and pleasure) to make sure that you understand how leg veins are supposed to work (the physiology); how things can go wrong (pathophysiology) and the treatments that may help your legs feel and look remarkably better. Fortunately (for both of us), vein function, disease and treatment are readily understandable and logical things.

During consultation appointments, it is often necessary to delve beneath the things we notice at the surface. Imagine, if you will, that the venous system is like a tree. Oftentimes the tortuous, bulging branches at the surface result from issues that stem from the “trunks” below. We can investigate this further by doing an ultrasound exam. Ultrasounds are completely painless and harmless tests utilizing sound waves to allow a computer to create real-time images of the form and function of your venous system. We can see where veins arise and to where they lead. More importantly, we can use the Doppler function (think “radar weather report” of the flow in veins) to look for improper flow. Ultimately, if abnormalities are detected, this information helps to create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
The treatment you receive, both personal and medical, is another way that I strive to make Rosen Vein Care stand out from the “rest of the pack”. Every aspect of care that you receive at Rosen Vein Care is provided by me: a board-certified physician. While there are many wonderful mid-level providers or “physician extenders” (as physician assistants and nurse practitioners are also called), I wanted my practice to allow for direct access between patients and their physician. This includes giving my patients the opportunity to directly email or call with any questions or concerns that arise.

We’ve touched on compassionate and personalized, but how is Rosen Vein Care state-of-the-art? Fortunately for my patients, I’m the right blend of “tech-savvy nerd” and tenacious vein warrior. I scour the literature, attend the conferences and contemplate the vagaries of all things veiny so that you don’t have to [you’re welcome]. My studies and training have given me the experience and skills needed to offer the latest in minimally-invasive, maximally comfortable treatment options for spider and varicose veins.
While there are many places to chose for the treatment for spider and varicose veins, I am certain that people who come to Rosen Vein Care feel less like patients and more like partners in the goal of getting their legs to feel and look better than they have in years.
